MARSHMELLO FINALLY REVEALS HIS IDENTITY AT EDC
The mysterious masked DJ Marshmello hit the dance music scene in 2015 and has kept his secret identity just that, until this last weekend at EDC. Fortunately for us, not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Rumors have circled for the past year naming Marshmello the rebirth of artist Dotcom. This rumor was helped along by Skrillex, who in an interview received a call from Marshmello and accidentally slipped the name “Chris” before hanging up. Many believe Mello to be Chris Comstock, aka Dotcom, due to this apparent mistake on Sonny Moore’s part. On stage in front of thousands of people at arguably the biggest EDM event in the world, Marshmello vowed to reveal his identity to the crowd. Many were shocked when the unmasked man standing before them in a marshmallow man suit was revealed to be Tiësto; it definitely was an unexpected turn of events. However, one thing people noticed right away is that Tiësto did not say a word after taking off the mask. For those of you who are fans of Tiësto, you can guess why: his dutch accent is a dead giveaway that he could not possibly be the real Marshmello (on top of the fact that Tiësto name is Tijs, and not Chris). Do you guys buy it? Even if the name slip was just amazing marketing on Sonny’s behalf, Dotcom and Marshmello have been noted to have apparently the exact same leg tattoo. It would seem that even after an official unveiling, Marshmello’s uncontested identity still remains unknown.
